It serves in the Aviation Unit of New York’s finest: the NYPD.
Dimitri made the drawing on the request of NYPD pilot Jon Goldin. It was the most complicated and difficult pencil drawing he had made upon till now. The text and all the extra gear mounted on the airframe made extra detailled study necessary. The fact that Dimitri was not able to see the helicopter in the flesh made life even more difficult. All he could do was constantly bombarding Jon with requests for detailled photos of parts of their Bell 412. For an artist it is always very important to see his subject in real life so he can get a 3D-feel of all its features.
