It was an ideal STOL liaison aircraft and it served well in the 15 Esc Lt Avn based at Butzweilerhof, Köln, Germany and in the Lt Avn School at Brasschaat. They were phased out in 2005 although two aircraft, B02 and B09, were bought by the Belgian Federal Science Department, MUMM (Monitoring Unit of the Mathematical Model of the North Sea). They are mainly used for pollution control and flown by four military pilots belonging to the Wing Heli.
Due to too much pressure from his Islander-collegues Dimitri was morally obliged to make this drawing thus completing the Belgian Army Light Aviation trio.
